The inspiration for this gloriously scented Shaving Soap comes from the abundant Fig and Olive groves found in the Scapicchio family’s native Puglia, Italy. A hint of West Indian Bay Rum, a traditional hair tonic, has been added for good measure, creating a fusion of the Old World and the New.

The name Scapicchio is synonymous with one of the most renowned and respected barber families in the world. Signor Marco Scapicchio first opened his barber shop for business in 1820. For the following five generations, the artisan skills of this most noble profession have been handed down from father to son and, indeed, to daughter.

Scapicchio are masters of the art of the vintage Italian, and specialists in the Kamisori fixed blade shave. These renowned techniques are still taught in their famed Accademia.

The Soap’s refreshing fragrance pays homage to Luigi’s great grandfather who emigrated to Chicago in 1910 and established his first Italian barbershop. In time, Vincenzo was to become the trusted personal barber of a certain fellow called Al Capone —but that’s another story…

How to apply

Top tips for a simply marvelous shave:

Use a traditional shaving brush.
Wet brush with warm water.
Brush in a stirring & churning motion over Shaving Soap to create a luxuriant thick lather.
Apply lather to beard thus lifting & softening the hair before getting to work with your preferred razor blade.
