Huzzah for Barber Society Live!
The Right Hand Man is just back from tip-toeing through the tulips to Zaandam, a mere stone's throw from Amsterdam, for a most special Barber Society Live 2026, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary.
What a decade it has been! Barber Society Live has become one of the best — if not the best — barber show in the industry. A full day of tonsorial talent, splendid seminars, educational shows, and truly good vibes all round.
Huge thanks and mighty congratulations to Marc van de Hare, Miranda, and the whole Barber Society crew for pulling off another simply magnificent event.
On the Main Stage
Two brilliant battles played out under the lights (with barber Hayden Cassidy representing the UK on the esteemed jury) alongside the prestigious Scapicchio Trophy Wet Shave Competition, hosted by the Scapicchio Accademia.
Captain Fawcett was hugely proud to supply the shaving products for this celebrated contest, reflecting a particularly special connection. The Scapicchio Accademia are renowned Signature Series collaborators with Captain Fawcett, crafting the rather delectable Fig, Olive & Bay Rum Shaving Soap, inspired by the glorious scents of Puglia. Five generations of shaving mastery, distilled into a handsome shaving set. Hats off to Luigi and his wonderful crew. Remarkable!
The fantastic Chris Foster held things together on MC duties throughout. Bravo sir!
Familiar Faces and Good Company
Excellent to see Joost Mulleman repping the Netherlands, and Blighty's own Josh Lamonaca there representing Fresha — proud sponsors of The Barber Society Battle 2026. Wonderful too to catch up with the RHM's old pal Bertus — aka The Bloody Butcher — Rob of Schorem, Haarsnijder en Barbier B.V. and co-founder of Reuzel. A huge pleasure, as always.
A real delight too to spot some of the Captain’s own Barber Educators in attendance — the brilliant Liona Moore, Artistic Director of Bayer & Bayer and Tian Forner, founder of Tian Stil Home — representing the noble trade with their customary style. Precisely the sort of fine company one hopes to keep!
And a particularly warming sight: so many attendees were spotted reading the brand new Fawcett Times. Splendid to see it out in the wild and going down so well.
On the Show Floor
The Wahl (UK) Limited Look & Learn with Cal Newsome (UK) and Barber Birdman (NL) was a real highlight, as was the excellent session from Josh O'Meara-Patel and the OP team, Tony Forrest and Montel Campbell. Education, inspiration and craft at its absolute finest.
To conclude…
An absolutely fantastic time was had by all. Suffice to say, the RHM is already somewhat giddy anticipating next year’s show.
Barber Society Live is open to everyone with an interest in barbering and men's grooming; professionals, students, and enthusiasts alike. With over 3,000 members in its Facebook community, it's a simply brilliant private forum for the trade.
Captain Fawcett highly recommends grabbing your ticket for 2027.
Prachtig!
